Netflix adds nearly 50 new titles this October
Netflix is adding nearly 50 new titles in October, including returning series, original films, documentaries, and live events. The month kicks off with East of Eden, a limited series based on John Steinbeck’s novel, starring Florence Pugh and Christopher Abbott. The adaptation, created by Zoe Kazan, arrives on October 1 as Netflix’s first major original release of the month.
Fans of political thrillers will find The Diplomat returning for its fourth season on October 15. The Emmy-nominated rom-com Nobody Wants This, starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, gets a third season on October 22, while Love Is Blind continues its run with season 11 on October 14. The French mystery series Lupin concludes its fourth season on October 23, wrapping up its Netflix arc.
New films include Animals, a crime thriller directed by and starring Ben Affleck. The movie follows an LA mayoral candidate whose son is kidnapped, forcing him to secure a ransom in hours. Gillian Anderson and Kerry Washington co-star in the October 9 release.
Documentaries dominate mid-month, with The One About Matthew Perry debuting on October 27. The series explores the actor’s life, career, and death. Tyson, a four-part look at Mike Tyson, arrives on October 13. Other documentaries cover Tyler Perry, Martin Mull, and the late Norm Macdonald, each offering deep dives into their legacies.

Netflix is also hosting live events, including the second Six Kings Slam tennis tournament on October 21, streaming live at 9:30 a.m. PT.
Returning series like All American (season 8) and Love Village (season 3) join new additions such as Below and Unicorn Academy: Secrets Revealed. Comedy specials from Zainab Johnson and Mojo Brookzz add variety, while family-friendly picks like Is It Cake? Halloween (season 2) cater to younger audiences.
Mid-month brings Solar Opposites (season 6) and The Trap, alongside documentaries like Schumacher ’94 and Free Leonard Peltier.
Meanwhile, Netflix is removing titles, including Dawson’s Creek (seasons 1–6), Nurse Jackie (seasons 1–7), and Poldark (seasons 1–5). Popular films like Ghostbusters and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory also leave the platform.
